who are they?
Rough Draft:analysis of blog.2bwb
This particular blog was posted for the general public of adults and teenagers past the driving age. The website title gives the impression that the author wants to point her attention more toward a mature audience. There is some profanity in this blog, but it is there to describe the emotion this author was feeling at that particular time. This article seems to want to also attract more of a women’s attention. The layout is in a pastel pink color and the words are written in a darker pink-purple color. The subject of this blog is describing something that a person might say to a random person unknowing of the result of the other person’s feelings. These types of questions may seem considerate to the asker but to the person being asked it may be a total insult.
The author, the Browneyed Bitch, made a clear example by saying, “When people come up to you and tell you, ‘You look tired’ or ask you if you had been crying” (and you haven’t). A comment like that sometimes makes people want to cry, particularly females. She also makes the comparison about how to ask if someone is pregnant, if not 100% sure. You never go and ask people up front; you always should ask at least a third party.
I think this person over exaggerates just a little bit about the pain of someone saying a statement like that. But, yes, I also agree with her about the insecurity that sets into people. If someone would have asked me if I was pregnant and I’m not, that would be a complete insult. This author seems very socially inclined, stating her opinions about this subject, quite well. This writer seems to use her blog to share her frustrations and inform others on how it truly makes people feel when they ask those questions. In the title of her blog site it states, “2 (or more) Bitches with a Blog bitching about any and everything.... Men, Work, Family, Friends, Media, Food, & Other Bitches :) Viewer discretion is advised!”
This author assumes that people are close to their self-image and if something is pointed out to them as wrong, that one person may feel worse than they started out as. The author is correct, a lot of people are worried about self-image especially women. But it all depends on the person’s personality.
I think most readers come to this blog for conformation and possible information. I did and I think that is what the Browneyed Bitch was trying to reach; a connection with complaining. Everyone has complained about something in their life. Ironically the scenario described above, does happen very often in today’s society and unknowingly offending someone.
I believe and accept this blog because I have felt that same way. How would you feel if someone asked you if you were tired and you really did not feel tired at all? Would that not make you wonder what visual image you are projecting to people around you?
